Our Livestock Dogs - May 25 '08 - We Have Pups!!!!

In the fall of 2005, we had a lion come and wipe out all of our goats. We knew we could not continue raising animals out here in the wilds of Colorado unless we found some qualified help. |
|
|
 |
|
|
|
We chose a cross dog rather than a purebred, hoping for greater health and longevity. We liked the friendliness of the Great Pyr and we chose our first pup, Caspian, who is 3/4 Great Pyrenees and 1/4 Anatolian Shepherd. |

Caspian amazed us! As we hike in the mountains, he runs in wide circles beside and ahead of us checking out every bush, rock, and tree. In the evening, when I go to the stables, he runs the borders of the property and the gullies, and then comes to my side and walks me down to the horses. He was not trained to do this, it is his instinct and his job. He loves it. There is almost nothing as wonderful as a dog who knows he has a job that he is good at. We decided to search for some girls... |

After searching literally all over the country, we found two unrelated girls just like Caspian and the exact same cross. Our wonderful girls have bonded to our horses. Caspian now guards the people and the girls guard the horses. |

Caspian is great in the house inspite of his huge size. He never barks at people. He is very mellow and our kitties love him. He only plays with his own toys. He sleeps most of the day and works very hard all night to keep our property free of intruders large or small. |

Livestock Guard Puppies For Sale!!!
Caspian and River have had 8 puppies! 6 are still available, boys and girls. They are our special 3/4 Great Pyrenees, and 1/4 Anatolian Shepherd cross. Both parents are gentle, great with animals, and great at guarding animals, people, and property. They are available to homes with acreage and animals.
